We received a lovely surprise from our Client Experience Associate Nancy Lane. Nancy was the winner of a little experiment we had in May. It came to our attention that the average United States worker commutes 51 minutes a day. Since our team mostly works from home, we thought we’d encourage everyone to take the 51 minutes they would have spent driving and use them to do something fulfilling instead. We asked our co-workers to share their experiences and offered a grand prize of a two-night stay at an Airbnb to a random participant. Nancy chose to spend her extra time making beautiful handmade cards and writing to her many pen pals across the United States.

Nancy enjoyed her prize by spending her birthday at an Airbnb in Bandon, Oregon. She sent us our very own handmade Thank You card, complete with a replica of the house she stayed in and this wonderful note:

I thank you for a very enjoyable two days I took over the time of my birthday. I was very delighted that my two Norwegian Forest cats were also welcomed. They accompanied me on my trip and also enjoyed their vacation.

Upon entering the house I was immediately taken back to being 5-12 years old. At that time I was living in a house that was built late 1800 – early 1900’s. The Norwegian house was built 1907. Sure brought back some wonderful memories.

Thank you, Nancy for the thoughtful card! Keep enjoying your 51 minutes of commute-free time!
