Automated Attendant

This is an automated phone attendant that answers calls with a recorded message. The automated attendant then gives the callers the option to be routed to different people or departments based on which menu option and corresponding digit that they press on thier touch-tone phone.

Automated attendants can direct callers to live agents that can answer questions or take messages, to voicemail boxes, recorded messages, etc. Automated attendants are also referred to as an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system.
