Glossary Automatic Number Identification
Automatic Number Identification (ANI)
Automatic Number Identification is a means by wich the number of the phone the caller is using is passed to the call center. This is the same as caller id as used by local phone companies. ANI, however is delivered by long distance companies. ANI is the term used in North America, whereas Calling Line Identification (CLI) is used in other locations.
AnswerConnect uses Automatic Number Identification to trace calls coming into our call center. This allows us to provide caller id type services to our clients upon request.
