Central Exchange (Centrex)
Centrex is a switching service used by businesses for facilitating station-to-station dialing and directory number service. It also allows direct inward dialing and station id on outgoing calls. The digital Centrex is an advanced version that allows the switching to be done without the need for floor space and other facilities, like the traditional Centrex.
