Switched 800 Service

Switched 800 service is a newer way for phone companies to handle lower volume 800 numbers. Instead of a dedicated line, the 800 number is routed to an existing local line. This can save a great deal of money for the customer who may not have the call volume to justify a dedicated line. These 800 numbers can also be rerouted using call forwarding, since they are already going to a local line, as opposed to a traditional 800 number.

AnswerConnect supplies all of their customers with an 800, 866, or 877 number at no extra charge. This is a dedicated number that customers can forward their lines to directly. The number is routed to our call center, however, not directly to the customer. A customer can purchase the 8XX number for a nominal fee from AnswerConnect if answering services are terminated.
