Today is National Hugging Day!
Hugging is usually an up-close and in-person activity. But as a distributed organization of hundreds of remote workers, we like to find ways to do things at a distance. And more often than not, there is a way!
For National Hugging Day, our connections director Tabitha set up a new challenge on GivingU. GivingU is an online collection of ways to give back to the many communities in which AnswerConnect employees live and work. Of course, GivingU runs on AdaptiveU, the online learning platform we developed and use for training, among other purposes.
For the challenge, we invited our employees to make paper hugs and send them to Cards for Hospitalized Kids, an organization that provides these long-distance “hugs” to children battling illness around the country.
Kristina, one of our customer experience associates, shared these photos of cards she and her daughters made. “This was a fun thing for us to do together as a family, making kids smile,” she says.
If you missed National Hugging Day but still want to send a card to a sick child, don’t worry! Cards for Hospitalized Kids sends your cards out monthly, all year long.
