To try and build a Green World, AnswerConnect teams up with Green Yatra (meaning a green journey) this month, a leading environmental NGO of India, dedicated to protecting and conserving the Earth. A green world describes an idealized planet that better sustains our living organisms through tree planting initiatives and other projects. Why is a green world important?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

76% of Indians live in places that do not meet national air quality standards, while 1-in-8 deaths are attributed to air pollution. Trees can sequester the emissions of greenhouse gasses by removing carbon dioxide from the air. Therefore, by planting trees, Green Yanta can help improve air quality to sustain a large population in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In India, 88 million people lack access to safe drinking water. Tree planting can reduce stormwater runoff and its associated pollution to help improve the everyday living conditions of habitats in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By 2030, India will likely face an overall increase of 0.5\u00b0C in temperature. The rising heat may lead to higher levels of ozone pollution and other air pollution in the major cities. On the other hand, tree planting helps mitigate climate change and creates more temperate climates in its environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tree plantation is one of the most effective and widely proven methods of controlling and mitigating global warming. So far, Green Yatra has saved & protected millions of trees and planted over half a million with a 90% survival rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
