The Great American Pastime

For Beronica Corral, an AnswerConnect customer experience associate, flexible scheduling helps keep family ties strong. “In my family we all share one thing that we love,” she says, “and that is baseball.” The only problem, she says, is divided loyalties—she roots for the Dodgers, while her son favors the Yankees.

When she was growing up, Beronica says, her parents were always working during her soccer and softball games. “It affected me that my parents couldn’t watch me play. That’s something that I want to change,” she says, now that she has a son of her own.

Flexibility for Employees and Clients

AnswerConnect operates around the clock, 365 days a year. That means plenty of shifts for our associates to choose from. To maintain their incentive to do excellent work for our clients, we let those with the highest quality assurance scores choose shifts first.

Flexible scheduling allows our associates to work when they want to. Now that Beronica’s son is in high school, she says, “I can totally go watch my son play. He looks for me, I know it. I know how it feels when you don’t have someone standing up to support you. I don’t want him to feel that way.”

Flexibility for the Future

Not only can flexible scheduling help people spend more time with their families, it can help people pursue their career dreams as well. For Beronica, being able to pick her own shifts enabled her to get a real estate license. She’d work about six hours during the day, and then go to school from six to ten each night. “I don’t think I could manage school and work at the same time if I had a 9 to 5,” she says.

All that Matters is Home

Recently, Beronica’s son stepped up to the plate for his first high school baseball game—and she was there to cheer him on. “I’m so grateful,” Beronica says. “He might be any number he chooses to be on the field, but in my heart he’s always #1. We share a love for the diamond, but in the end the only thing that matters is home!”
