3rd-Generation Family Business

One Way Solutions founder Brian Pigott has deep roots in the material handling industry. Pigott is the third generation of his family to develop and market innovative products to businesses in that sector.

Brian founded One Way Solutions in Northfield, Illinois (just outside Chicago) in 2002 to sell plastic pallets used for shipping a wide variety of products around the globe. “Being immersed in the industry,” says marketing manager Robin Kiefer, “it was a natural path for Brian to leverage his innate expertise and engineering background to start his own plastic pallet company.”

Led by Brian’s brother Andy, the company’s national sales manager, One Way Solutions’ sales team averages 26 years of industry experience, so it’s safe to say they know pallets. Nestable pallets, stackable pallets, rackable pallets—One Way Solutions has them all. The industry has taken note and One Way has become the go-to partner for launching new products.

The Plastic Pallet Advantage

The plastic pallets One Way Solutions sells have several benefits over wooden pallets. They are  recyclable and reusable, making them 100% sustainable. The plastic pallets are more durable and lighter than wood, which means they last longer and cost less to ship.

Plastic shipping pallets are also impervious to insects and microorganisms—issues that can make wood pallets a danger to forests when shipped from one region to another. As a result, One Way Solutions’ pallets are not subject to any import or export restrictions, including ISPM-15, an international measure designed to prevent transfer of harmful insects or disease through wood.

Integrations for Higher Customer Satisfaction

Kiefer says two main things set One Way Solutions apart from its competition: aggressive pricing and a devotion to complete customer satisfaction. The company’s focus on customer service led it to look into a live answering service.

“If they do us the honor of calling, it’s important that they speak to a human being. Ultimately, our customers need to know that they’re not getting lost in the shuffle,” Kiefer says. One Way Solutions chose AnswerConnect, he says, because of its service, features, reputation, and value-priced features.

Since partnering with AnswerConnect, Kiefer says, One Way Solutions has seen higher customer satisfaction from the improved response they’re able to provide with a 24-hour answering service.

AnswerConnect’s ability and willingness to integrate One Way Solution’s live answering service with its customer relationship management (CRM) system for lead capture is another plus. “The integration isn’t just convenient, it’s a clear indication that the success of One Way and its customers is first in mind,” Kiefer says. “AnswerConnect treats us with the same high level of responsiveness and respect that we continually strive to offer our customers.”
