We offer four types of call transfers: cold transfers, warm transfers, hot transfers, and live relay. Each type suits different scenarios, depending on the urgency of the call and the availability of the recipient.
Cold Transfer
In a cold transfer, the virtual receptionist transfers the call to you and disconnects as soon as you answer, without any introduction or background.
Use case: Ideal when the recipient already expects the call or when minimal context is needed. For example, transferring to a main reception or known contact point.

Warm Transfer
In a warm transfer, the virtual receptionist first speaks with the recipient to share context about who’s calling and why. Once the recipient confirms they’re ready, the caller is transferred. The receptionist then disconnects from the call.
Use case: Useful when the recipient may not be expecting the call and needs brief context before speaking to the caller. For example, a manager being patched through to a potential lead.

Hot Transfer
A hot transfer goes a step further. The receptionist briefs the recipient and stays on the line to introduce the caller personally before leaving the call.

Live Relay
With live relay, our receptionists take the message or gather all necessary information, end the call, and then relay the details separately to you via call or message.
Use case: Best for ensuring calls are only connected when someone is ready. Ideal for sales inquiries or urgent support where missed connections aren’t acceptable.
